When I was in college, back in B.C., I started writing about two periods in the history of a secondary world with a pre-Cartesian mentality. They were my escape, my protest when all thought me silent, a way of expressing my ideals and ethos. Below are some maps and items not truly vital to the stories. And the stories themselves. CatTale is copyrighted 1998, SongSpell is copyrighted 2001. The texts are all rendered in Microsoft Word.
CatTale is complete. A romance & bit of a fairy-tale, with some gruesome trappings.
SongSpell is a story I may never finish, and may never want to. It is more "realistic" in many ways. The characters don't bounce back with fantastical resilience, and their life-stories don't begin (or don't end) cleanly or happily. Their problems are familiar ones, and explored more honestly than I have seen anywhere else in fiction. But the scope is still "larger-than-life" and wonder has a constant & important place in this world & story.
Understand: This is all adult fiction. While not sexually explicit at any point, there is a 'healthy' amount of violence in these stories. |
